About Us
We moved to the beautiful village of Cove in Argyll & Bute on Scotland’s wild west coast as a fresh start to help Marie with her mental health. Daily walks along the stunning beaches and lochs quickly became our therapy. The peaceful rhythm of the sea helped ease Marie’s PTSD, depression, and anxiety, even if only for a little while.
It was on those walks that Marie began collecting sea glass — pieces in every beautiful colour, naturally tumbled by the waves over decades or even centuries. One day, after a difficult relapse and with wonderful support from her doctors, Marie decided to turn her treasured finds into something new. She made her first sea glass necklace… and we both knew instantly she had discovered her true talent.
Seeing Marie so calm and at peace while creating jewellery was magical. That’s how Argyll Sea Glass was born — a small handmade jewellery business on the shores of Loch Long.
In 2017, life brought new challenges when Marie was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease after a frightening hospital stay. Then in 2024, a fall led to a serious pelvic fracture and a diagnosis of Osteopenia. These hurdles forced us to slow down, but they also inspired positive change. We adapted the business so we could introduce our new range of eco coconut & rapeseed wax candles and wax melts, which launched in April 2025.
Today, every piece we create carries the spirit of the Scottish coast — and the story of resilience, healing, and hope.
Thank you for reading our story and for supporting us on this journey.
Together, we’re helping to #EndMentalHealthStigma and celebrating every #CrohnsWarrior.
